Welcome to Tea Time with Jen—a cozy corner of Life Beyond the Craft Table where I share reflections, life lessons, and the everyday moments that make us pause, think, and grow. So grab your favorite cup of tea, get comfortable, and let’s spend a few minutes together.
Yes, I do.
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, whether we understand it at the time or not. More often than not, it’s only after some time has passed that the reason becomes clear.
My family probably gets tired of hearing me say, “Everything happens for a reason,” but it’s something I’ve truly come to believe.
Life has its seasons. Every event brings questions, moments of pondering, endless “why” thoughts, and, of course, emotions that come with it. I try not to dwell on those questions too much, but that’s easier said than done—especially when you’ve invested so much of yourself into something, only to have it backfire or take a completely different direction than you expected.
When that happens, it’s disappointing. It can even be heartbreaking.
But I’ve learned that looking back often tells a different story.
After enough time has passed, I can usually trace the path and see where that experience led me. Sometimes it opened a door I never would have considered. Sometimes it protected me from something I couldn’t see at the time. Other times, it simply taught me a lesson I needed to learn before moving on.
I may not always understand the reason in the moment, but I’ve found that life has a way of revealing it when the time is right.
So yes, I believe everything happens for a reason. We may not see it immediately, but if we’re willing to look back with an open heart, the pieces often begin to fit together.
Until next tea time…
