Week in Review: One Chapter Ends, Another Begins | July 18, 2026

💙 Personal
We attended Miss Emma’s 4th birthday party last weekend and can’t believe she’s already 4 years old! 🎉

Grandpa entered the final stage of hospice care about two weeks ago and passed away peacefully at home Thursday evening. His funeral is set for Thursday afternoon.

On Friday the 17th, Connor, our oldest son, went to court to change Ashton’s last name to ours. The judge approved it, so Ashton is now officially a Benner! ❤️
He had been asking for this for two years, so he is absolutely OVER THE MOON! 🥹

🦶 Health
Foot surgery is officially scheduled for July 24th.

When I met with the surgeon, he said NO WEIGHT BEARING, which means I won’t be able to walk on that foot at all for at least four weeks. I’m still hoping he’ll have some good news when I see him at the surgery center on Friday, but for now, I’m preparing for the full recovery.

✂️ Creative
I’ve officially started planning my “Recovery Craft Station”—also known as my dining room. 😂

Since my studio is in the basement, I’m moving everything I’ll need upstairs so I can keep creating while I recover.

📚 Business

A HUGE milestone this week!
My Stampin’ Up! chapter officially closed on July 15th, and my new journey with Creative Memories officially began on July 16th.
I’m incredibly excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to see where this journey leads!

❤️ This Week’s Lesson
Sometimes the hardest weeks become the most meaningful.
This week reminded me that life has a way of bringing both heartbreak and joy at the same time. One chapter closed, another opened, and through it all, I’m choosing peace, gratitude, and hope.

Life doesn’t wait for one season to end before another begins. Sometimes they overlap—and that’s okay. 💙
