Tired of trying to explain my perspective based on the information I do have, only to be told I\u2019m wrong for seeing it that way over and over.<\/p>\n
Tired of expressing my feelings and being accused of playing the victim.<\/p>\n
People forget that communication isn\u2019t just words. I read facial expressions, body language, and energy because I\u2019ve spent my entire life navigating a world that often isn\u2019t built for me.<\/p>\n
What hurts the most is the expectation that I should constantly adapt to the hearing world, while so few people make the effort to understand Deaf culture, accessibility, or the realities of communication barriers.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve spent my entire life learning how to function in a world that wasn\u2019t designed for me.<\/p>\n
The least people can do is listen.<\/p>\n
The least people can do is learn.<\/p>\n
The least people can do is try to understand.<\/p>\n
Because I\u2019m exhausted from always being the one expected to bridge the gap, why can’t they help?<\/p>\n
And honestly?<\/p>\n
