Week in Review: Life, Studio Notes & More | June 21, 2026

Hey there

I hope you and your family are doing well. It’s time for another weekly catch-up from my little corner of the world. 💛

I’m still on no weight-bearing and no driving restrictions due to the fractured foot and possible Lisfranc ligament injury. I have a CT scan scheduled this week, and I’m really hoping it brings some answers—and maybe even permission to start putting weight on my foot again. I am honestly so over being stuck on the sidelines and ready to get back into the studio and create.

In the meantime, I’ve been keeping busy babysitting Ashton during the day while Jeff is at work. He’s become quite the helper around here. I’ve also been able to spend some time with Adeline whenever Jeff is home to help me out, which has definitely been a bright spot.

Health-wise, I recently started an additional medication for my seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. It will take some time before we know if it’s helping, but so far I’ve been having more good days than bad ones. I’ll happily count that as a win.

Ashton started playing baseball through the city’s recreation program and is having a great time. Thankfully, I’ve been able to get out of the house with my walker and watch him play. He has about two weeks left in the season before things slow down for the rest of the summer.

I also finally met with the knee specialist. The news wasn’t exactly a surprise, but it is official—I will need a total knee replacement in September. This will be a major surgery, and I’ll likely be out of commission for most of September. The good news is that the specialist expects I should be able to start resuming some activities in October. Don’t worry—I’ve already started planning ahead so content and projects can continue while I recover.

Here’s a quick look at what I’ve been working on this week:

• Brought back Color Play Friday with one of my favorite color combinations with a project from the old Ink, Stamp & Repeat series
• Brainstormed new ways to share card making and scrapbooking inspiration – I am so excited about this one!!
• Started planning projects for August through October

One thing I’ve been reminded of this week is that simple is often better.

Sometimes we make things harder than they need to be. Right now I’m focusing on creating content that is easier to enjoy, easier to share, and easier for me to maintain. That shift has already helped me feel more focused and excited about what’s ahead.
